If you use optional sync or social interactions, we may also process:

  • Reading-list sync data
  • User-generated comment content

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When using the Service, we may process limited technical data required for operation:

  • Authentication tokens/session data
  • Basic request metadata needed for security and troubleshooting
  • API response cache metadata (for example ETag/If-None-Match behavior)

We do not run ad tracking, cross-app profiling, or behavioral advertising systems in the app.

2.3 Local Device Storage

When used without login, ManhwaVerse stores certain data locally (for example bookmarks and preferences) to provide offline-friendly usage.

We use information to:

  • Authenticate users and secure accounts
  • Provide core features (discover, recommendations, bookmarking, comments)
  • Sync bookmarks and reading list across devices when you opt in by logging in
  • Maintain service reliability, safety, and abuse prevention

  • Performance of a contract (providing requested app features)

Manhwa metadata, cover images, and related reference information are sourced from external providers (including AniList and browse datasets). Ownership remains with the original rights holders and providers.

Their privacy and terms may also apply when interacting with their data.

7. Data Retention

Retention depends on the data type:

  • Local-only data remains on your device until removed
  • Account data is retained while account is active and as needed for legal/security purposes
  • Sync/bookmark records are retained to provide continuity across sessions/devices

You may request deletion of account-linked data (subject to legal retention requirements).

8. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards including:

  • HTTPS/TLS for API traffic
  • Authentication token handling
  • Access controls and basic abuse protection measures

No system is 100% secure; however, we continuously improve safeguards.
